President's visit

The Democratic Republic Congo contains 60 percent of the world's cobalt reserves. This is a strategic mineral that will place our country in a very privileged position in the next 20 to 40 years. We must not lose this opportunity and make it profitable in terms of infrastructure construction but also in terms of employment. We must be able to process and transform the minerals in our country to give employment to our compatriots, and to position our country to the industrial challenges of tomorrow.

I will come back for discussions with the workers and the management to see how to improve the performance and discuss the win-win partnership vision with investors for the well-being of both Congolese and partners.

Inauguration of the Memorial Garden

On the same day the President visited the site, the Memorial Garden to commemorate the members of our KCC “family” who have lost their lives on duty was inaugurated. This was an extremely emotional event and Clint Donkin; the Managing Director of KCC reinforced our emphasis on ensuring that everyone goes home safely every day.
